“Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life”(Revelation 2:10).

A committed woman is a whole hearted, a dedicated and a consecrated woman. Paul was committed to the ministry appointed by God. The virtuous woman found in Proverbs 31, was committed to the God-given family. Jesus committed Himself to the saving plan of the whole world. Jael was committed to the task of destroying the enemy. Anna committed herself to the ministry of fasting and prayer. Let us consider three committed women.

  1. RUTH WAS COMMITTED TO THE WILL OF GOD:- “And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if aught but death part thee and me” (Ruth 1:16, 17). We can see the commitment of Ruth to Naomi and the God of Naomi. It is one of the greatest declaration of commitment found in the Word of God. Ruth made a plea of commitment. She followed the path of commitment, no matter, if the way is difficult or dangerous. She was willing to stay in the place of commitment without conditions and complaints.

She was willing to associate with God’s people by committing herself to fellowship with them. (Ruth 1:16) says, “…and thy God my God.” She committed herself to the Jehovah God, by forsaking the pagan gods of the Moabites. Thus Ruth committed herself to the will of God whole -heartedly. She was rewarded with Boaz.

  1. MARY WAS COMMITTED TO THE WORD OF GOD: “And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word” (Luke 10:39). Mary committed herself to listen to the words of Jesus by sitting at His feet. Mary gave the attendance and importance upon the utterance of Christ. If Christ is forward to speak, we should be swift to hear. Her mind was composed and her heart was resolved to receive all that Christ delivered. Be committed to Word, which is life. THE BIBLE- LET IT IN – LET IT OUT- LIVE IT UP!

  1. ESTHER WAS COMMITTED TO THE WORK OF GOD: “Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, … and if I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16). These are the words of commitment by Esther, the Queen. She plunged herself into the work of God by saving the Jews from death. Winning souls for the Kingdom of God is the best ministry we can do unto the Lord. The main essence of God’s work is to plunder Hell and populate Heaven. Esther left no stone unturned to fulfil the hazardous task of delivering the Jews by yielding herself to the ministry of fasting and prayer. She acted with strong resolution and determination. Her commitment was a binding commitment. In order to fulfil the work of God, she committed herself by willingly to even lay down her life. Through the undaunted commitment of Esther, the Jews were delivered. In ministry, there should be no fighting- no quitting- no regretting. All your labour shall be rewarded.   Are you committed to Christ? Be committed to God in whatever position God has placed you, irrespective of the situation, person and place.
