Have you prayed for something and you haven’t got an answer from God? Then this message is for you. How many of you feel that God is silent in your case? Why some of your prayers are not yet answered?

But you need to have four attitudes in order to have answers to your prayers.

1. YOU MUST BE WILLING TO LET GOD ANSWER IN HIS OWN PERIOD (TIME)

God will answer your prayers according to His schedule. He will answer you whenever He thinks it’s best. The fact is, God often delays the answers to prayers. He does not answer everything immediately. Why?  Why does He wait? Why does He withhold the gift sometimes for a period of time? Take for example the life of Zacharias. “And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” “And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.” (LUKE 1:17, 18). Why didn’t he believe it? It is because, he had lost his faith. The first principle is, you have got to let God answer in His own time.

Why does God delay your answers to prayers? Usually it’s because He needs to prepare us first. He has to prepare us to get the blessing. You think you are ready to receive the answer but He is waiting for you to grow into maturity. The fact of the matter is this: God is never late. His timing is perfect. “Not yet” does not mean “No”. Jesus came four days later after Lazarus had died. His delay was with a purpose. God’s Name was glorified and many Jews believed Him. So in order to receive an abundant blessing from God, you must be willing to let God answer in His own period of time.

2. YOU MUST BE WILLING TO LET GOD ANSWER IN HIS OWN PLAN:

We must allow God to answer not only whenever He thinks best  but also however He thinks best. God’s plans are always better and bigger when He answers. God had a plan for John, the Baptist when He gave him to Zacharias and Elizabeth. God’s plan was that he should be born in such a time when he could become the forerunner of the Messiah. God gave Hannah her son Samuel after much delay. But he had a plan for Samuel that he should be the greatest prophet of the Old Testament times in the days of Saul.

Let God answer in His own time and you let God answer according to His own plan. “God always gives His best to those who leave the choice to Him.” Let God’s plan be fulfilled when He answers your prayers.

3. YOU MUST BE WILLING TO LET GOD ANSWER IN HIS OWN POWER:

Don’t try to help out God. Don’t ask for it and then you go out and work it on your own. Let God answer in His own power. That’s called a miracle. God says, “Let Me do it in My own power.”

There is an important truth you learn from the life of Zacharias and Elizabeth. God often waits until the situation becomes humanly impossible before He answers. When did God give them a baby? After they were beyond child-bearing years. Because when God answers an impossible situation, the glory goes to Him.

When your situation becomes hopeless, then God will answer your prayers through the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit. Joseph dreamed about his blessing but he was cast into the pit. Why? Because sometimes God will let things get to the point of hopelessness in order that He might gain the most glory out of it. Let God answer in His power. He waits till things get out of your control and when you are about to give up, then God takes over and performs a miracle for you through the power of the Holy Spirit.

When you are waiting for a prayer that’s been delayed, keep your eyes open to watch God at work in other people’s lives and it will build your faith.

Do you want an answer from God? Be willing to let God answer in His own time, in His own way and in His own power. God will surely answer you!
