Blessed be the Name of the Lord! We come from a staunch Catholic family. We were following the Catholic formalities and lived a nominal Christian life without knowing Christ as Saviour. Our first daughter died of lung disease at the age of two in 1997, after a year of great struggle of undergoing so many tests in most of the hospitals in the city for diagnosis and treatment, the cause of the disease was never known. I came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through the Railway Prayer Fellowship in my office. Due to my family circumstances, I was not able to attend a Church where I could get the Word of God.

To our dismay, our second daughter was born premature with congenital heart disease and other complicated problems. When she was two years, she had to undergo an open heart surgery.   We decided to put her in a school within the vicinity of our working place so that we could attend to her in case of any emergency. So we moved from Tambaram to Vepery. Then God in His foreknowledge brought us to Agaram in 2004. In the year 2005, I started  attending the evening Church service at ACA Perambur and surely God satisfied me with His words of comfort and convicted me  of all bitterness in my heart which I considered not as a sin.

When the Cardiologist told us about the need for another open heart surgery, we were very much perplexed. God met our financial need at the time of both surgeries. In the mean while, brothers from the Church visited our home and invited my husband to come to Church.  When we started to attend Sunday morning service as a family, the series on the topic ‘Confession of  Faith’  based on Hebrew 10:23 was preached. It was really an encouraging sign that God speaks in our adverse circumstances.  The Almighty God touched my husband and he took water baptism in September 2007. The child passed away in November 2007. In her death bed we decided that whatever we might have to face in our life, we should be faithful to our faithful God. In all our difficult circumstances,  His grace was sufficient for us  and He is the God all comfort.

In 2003, God blessed us with another girl child. In times of sickness, He has been our healer.  God has been faithful in protecting us and He has been our strong fortress. We thank God for having given us a good Church fellowship. Now we know whatever God does, it is for our good.    We enjoy Christ’s peace under the sovereign control of God in our family. Whenever I face some difficult situation in my work place, God speaks to me during the time of worship and through the message preached  in the Church and gives me encouragement and needed grace. Hitherto God has helped me and never put me to shame. In December 2016, God protected me from a road accident in a miraculous way. I thank God for His hand of protection.

We know for sure that God’s leading is marvelous and all things work together for good.  As the Psalmist says in Psalm 66:12, we can also say “We went through fire and through water; but Thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.” God satisfies us with the goodness of His house. It is God’s grace that sustains us till the end. “ In the day when I cried Thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst  me with strength in my soul”(Psalm138:3).
