success“For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye Me, and ye shall live:”(Amos 5:4)

Take a decision to seek the Lord with all your heart in this month and you shall live. In the original Hebrew, the above verse says, “You shall live prosperously, joyfully and blissfully.” The blessings of seeking the Lord. 1. Security. 2. Serenity. 3. Stability. 4. Sagacity.

1. Seek the Lord for a Life of Security: “Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His face continually” ( 1 Chronicles 16: 11). Do you want safety and security? Seek the Lord. There are three things mentioned in this verse. Seek the Lord for salvation and deliverance. Seek His strength for His service. Seek His face for fellowship. The result of seeking the Lord is found in 1 Chronicles 16: 20 –  22 “And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people; He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, He reproved kings for their sakes, saying, Touch not Mine anointed, and do My prophets no harm.” When you seek the Lord, you will enjoy a life of security and you need not be afraid of anything or anyone. Seek the Lord early morning, noontime, evening and night watches. Seek Him every moment of the day. David says, “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears” (Psalm 34: 4). Let David’s experience be ours. Do you have fear about your future and your children? Seek the Lord. Divine security does not mean safety outside the lion’s den or the fiery furnace. We need security only in the lion’s den and the fiery furnace and not outside of them. We may go through fiery trials this month, but God says, “My son and daughter, seek Me and you shall live”. You are God’s anointed people and the hand of God is upon you. As God reproved even  kings for the sake of His people, for your sake, God will reprove influential people, to enable you to enjoy divine security. Jacob was with his uncle Laban for twenty years. When he was returning with his family, Laban followed him to attack him. But the Lord spoke to Laban in a dream by night and said to him, “Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad” (Genesis 31: 29). This month, the Lord will not allow anyone to harm you or speak against you. You shall be protected and dwell in safety.

2. Seek the Lord for a Life of Serenity: “And commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment. Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him” (2 Chronicles 14: 4 , 5). Do you want to enjoy a life of rest and serenity? Seek the Lord. As we live in this world of chaos and confusion, we as God’s people can enjoy a life of divine serenity. Note the phrase, “Seek the Lord”. Judah was commanded to seek the Lord during the reign of King Asa and the kingdom was at rest. Are you troubled from different quarters? If you seek the Lord, you shall have rest on every side. In your family circle, secular job and the place where you reside, this month, the Lord promises to give you a serene life. He will change the attitude of people who are trying to cause disturbance. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee” (Isaiah 26:3). Apostle Paul told the Thessalonian Church, “Now the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all” (2 Thessalonians 3: 16). Believe what God is telling you. Seek the Lord to be at peace with Him. When you have peace with God, you will have the peace of God. The Lord of peace will give you peace by all means. This month will be a month of experiencing the peace of God. “And the God of peace shall bruise satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen” (Romans 16: 20).

3. Seek the Lord for a life of stability: “But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in His commandments, and not after the doings of Israel. Therefore the Lord stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance” (2 Chronicles 17: 4 & 5). This speaks of king Jehoshaphat who sought the Lord and the Lord established his kingdom. This is called a life of stability. When we seek the Lord, God will establish the work of our hands in our secular job with his blessings. People may try to remove you, but the Lord says, “because you seek Me, you shall be established.” God shall establish your family, ministry and business. Jephthah, the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah. and Gilead’s wife bare him sons; and his wife’s sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, “Thou shalt not inherit in our father’s house; for thou art the son of a strange woman” (Judges 11: 2). But Jephthah, “uttered all his words before the Lord in mizpeh” (Judges 11: 11). and God began to create a situation. “And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel” (Judges 11: 4). In Hebrew, the phrase, “It came to pass…” says, “When the right time came, God started to work”. The children of Ammon who were quiet for three hundred years, rose up against the children of Israel. The sons of Gilead did not know what to do and they had no strength to fight the enemy. So they came to Jephthah to ask for help and said, “Come, and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon” (Judges 11: 6). God made the same man who was rejected and thrust out as the captain of the tribe. God says, “Are you being despised, rejected and facing injustice? If you seek me, I will create a situation for you to establish you.”

4. Seek the Lord for a Life of Sagacity: “They that seek the Lord understand all things” (Proverbs 28: 5). Are you perplexed and confused about those things that have happened or happening? Friend, seek the Lord with all your heart and God will fill you with wisdom. The Lord says this month, “I will give you wisdom and understanding to handle your family situation and you will deal all situations at your work place with the wisdom and understanding that I will give you”. The crisis that Daniel and his friends faced was that the king would destroy his wise men if they failed to tell and interpret his forgotten dream. At that time, Daniel and his friends desired and sought the mercies of the God of heaven concerning that secret. “Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision (Daniel 2: 19). Wisdom is of the Lord.  The way Daniel sought the Lord was remarkable. He set his face unto the Lord God, “to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes” (Daniel 9: 3). God sent his answer through angel Gabriel saying, “O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision” (Daniel 9: 22 , 23).

Ask God to give you wisdom and He will give you “liberally” (James 1: 5). This month seek God for wisdom from above to conduct your family, secular job and ministry. Wisdom which is from above is more than common sense. This month, God will give you wisdom and the tongue of the learned. What is wisdom? Wisdom is nothing but speaking the right thing at the right moment. If you seek the Lord, He will put the right words to speak at the right time.

“If I forget God, others will tell me what to do.

But if I seek God, He will use me to tell others what they must do”.
